Our goal is that the people of Stevenage actively experience the Love and Mercy of Jesus and there will always be restrictions in our ability to do this without our own premises. Already we have had various organisations throughout Stevenage use what premises we do have and various aspects of our compassion have been restricted by the resources we have available.
Having a stable premises for the church to grow and thrive is essential so that the people of Stevenage can know where we are and access us as well as providing a secure base in which to be able to reach out.
In the autumn of 2014 we launched a Building for the Future campaign to work toward the vision of the church – leased or purchased. A warehouse which could integrate our admin, compassion and community functions in the town centre along with the auditorium/church that currently meets at Thomas Alleyne Academy.
We are actively monitoring property opportunities right now and with “the 2009 downturn becoming an upturn”, it is common sense that we are prepared as possible for any opportunities or changes that come up. We have calculated that if we buy we will need at least £500,000 in the first year. And if we lease, we will need at least £250,000 in the first year. While we continue to diligently save and use what resources we do have, a property fund is essential to working towards our vision as a church.
We would love you to join us, you are key to making this happen. We have created a restricted fund wholly devoted to this investment in a future property.
In 1 Chronicles 29:14, David said - “But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this?”
Even he was storing up resources for a future building so when the time came, they were ready to go.
If you would like to be a part of this, you can give using these methods, clearly marking your gift ‘SVPF'.
