SMDA are offering a free money and debt advice service in Stevenage. We are passionate about bringing hope into what often seems an impossible situation, helping lift the burden of debt, working with clients to achieve a workable budget, and finding debt solutions which work for them. Our remote service is tailored to our clients' individual circumstances and includes use of video conferencing, telephone, mobile, messaging, email, and post.
Please note that SMDA have discontinued their Drop-In service at the Vineyard Centre Offices. However, depending on client preference we still offer face-to-face appointments or online appointments, using Zoom or similar. We normally arrange face to face appointments on Monday afternoons from 1.30pm at the Vineyard Centre Offices. Other face-to-face appointment times can be arranged if Monday afternoons are not practical.
SMDA supports clients through debt solutions including Debt Management Plans (DMP); Debt Relief Orders (DRO); Bankruptcy; Administration Orders; and Full and Final Settlements. If an Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA) is a suitable option, we can refer clients to an IVA Practitioner.
Where clients wish to improve their money management skills we offer the CAP Money Course which can be run remotely with groups or on a one to one basis.
SMDA is part of the network of over 150 advice centres affiliated to Community Money Advice. Each year these centres help thousands of people with their debts and money problems. We provide free, non-judgemental, confidential advice and practical support to people from all walks of life.
Our advisers at SMDA are fully trained and qualified and offer free and confidential face to face support.
