We're still running and will remain open for as long as possible. I'm sure everyone's aware of the latest government guidelines, so at Foodshed we have responded with even further changes to our set-up. If you're coming to a drop-in, then please don't arrive early - we don't want unnecessary queues forming. We will be putting measures in place to ensure that the 2 meter rule is adhered to whilst waiting for your food parcel and would ask you to respect this. We'd encourage only 1 person per household to collect the food to minimise groups and maximise space. We're also running with a skeleton team, so won't be able to do the usual requests and extras that we'd normally do - we're only handing out pre-made food bags.
If you’re feeling unwell or are self-isolating and still need our support, then we’d ask that you’d send someone else on your behalf. If you aren’t able to do so, then please get in contact with us either via the website or calling us and leaving a message. We're doing our best to get back to everyone as soon as possible, but please bear with us.
Any services/ charities/ other organisations that we work with, please do keep in contact with us so that we can provide much needed food to all those vulnerable in the community. We’re so grateful to everyone who’s donating, we have enough in our stores to support the community for the time being, so let’s just try to keep this going so that we reach everyone in need!
We've seen some unbelievable kindness this week and are so encouraged by those in the community that are going above and beyond to help us... Thank you!
Any further updates will be posted to this page, and our Facebook page, so please check online first before calling!
Thank you so much for your help and support! We couldn't do what we do without the support of the people and businesses in Stevenage. We have donation baskets around the town in:
- Tesco: Broadwater Superstore, Town Centre
- Co-op: Symonds Green, Oval
- Sainsburys: Correy's Mill
- St Peter's Church
- Grace Community Church
- The Coptic Orthodox Church Centre UK
We often post our most needed items on our Facebook page, but you can't go wrong with tins of meat, veg, potatoes and fruit, cereal, biscuits, UHT milk, tea and coffee.
If you'd like to support us and would like to do so remotely, you can do so via our Bankuet shop. They know exactly what we need and deliver your donations straight to our door. If you're able to set up a monthly subscription, we'd be so grateful for the support. To find out more about Bankuet, click this link.
